Hundreds of Turks gathered in Istanbul and Ankara Sunday, answering the call of local Islamist organizations to mark "Nakba Day "– the "catastrophe" of Israel's inception.
In Istanbul, about 150 demonstrators marched to the Israeli Consulate, shouting "Damn Israel" and "get ready Israel, the Mavi Marmara is coming."

Some 100 people protested outside the residence of the Israeli Ambassador to Ankara, where according to the Anatolia news agency, they laid a funeral wreath.
Meanwhile, some 200 students gathered in Amman, Jordan, to mark the "Nakba." The protesters were flying Jordanian and Palestinian flags and shouting "The right of return is sacred," "Free Palestine," and "We are willing to die for Jerusalem."
The group, which rallied near the Israeli embassy in Amman, demanded it be closed.
